Trinidad IVF Treatment Success Rate

Success rates for all treatments

Trinidad IVF and Fertility Centre has set itself apart as one of the leaders in the region for providing clear and transparent fertility treatment information and success rates. Our international accreditation means that we voluntarily allow external Fertility and IVF experts to visit and inspect all our facilities. We hold ourselves to the highest standards knowing that you expect all of our published data, including success rates, to be transparent and real. To find out more about how to choose an excellent IVF clinic, visit the UK Fertility authority.

Why Are Our Success Rates So Impressive?

We build healthy families, one baby at a time. Our multiple pregnancy rate is independently verified and remains the best in the Caribbean. Low multiple pregnancy rates are best for you and best for your baby. To achieve great success rates with low multiple pregnancy rates, clinics require high quality fertility laboratories, combined with exceptional doctors providing treatments using the latest techniques and most effective procedures. Trinidad & Tobago IVF and Fertility Centre has all of these.

Some reasons we are so successful:

  • We use the latest technologies
  • We ensure rigorous quality control
  • We are fully accredited to the highest international standards with both IVF laboratory and fertility centre certification
  • We employ and continually train the very best staff to ensure both quality and excellence in customer service
  • We undertake research into fertility issues within T&T

What are my chances of getting pregnant with IUI?

The doctor will discuss your success rate with you in clinic and recommend how many IUI cycles you should consider.

Each time an IUI is done the chance of becoming pregnant is between 0.01 – 30%. This will vary depending on your personal circumstances and will be lower particularly with lower sperm quality and in older women (40 years and over).

If both tubes are blocked there is almost no chance of pregnancy with IUI. This is why the clinic will usually ask you to have a tube x-ray before IUI treatment.

What are my chances of getting pregnant with IVF?

Every year around the world thousands of babies are born after IVF treatment. However IVF treatment certainly cannot guarantee a pregnancy.

Your chance of conceiving with IVF depends on several things. IVF is more likely to be successful when the woman is below the age of 35 years or a couple have been suffering with infertility for a short period of time (less than five years). The doctor will discuss your success rate with you in clinic and recommend the type of medication, cycle protocol and add-ons that you should consider.

We report our success rates in the most transparent way, just like in the UK, in terms of pregnancies per cycle started. This gives you real information about the chances of a baby for you. We do not inflate our statistics by giving you pregnancy rates per embryo transfer or pregnancy rates per best quality embryo transferred. We give you the honest answer to your question “what is my chance of getting a pregnancy if I do treatment in your clinic?”.

UNDERSTANDING SUCCESS RATES

A comparison of clinic success rates may not be meaningful because clinics may use subtly different statistics to inflate success rates. For example the term “Pregnancy” might mean a blood test reading of a beta-HCG of three and above, of five and above, or a more advanced pregnancy of six weeks on ultrasound with a fetal heart beating. Whatever definition is used by the clinic will substantially change the apparent success rate of “percent of pregnancies”. Also the percentage number varies – it could mean pregnancies for every cycle started (including all cancelled cycles – as the UK clinics must publish), or pregnancies for each egg collection, each embryo transfer or each embryo transfer of the highest quality blastocysts only. Obviously you cannot compare pregnancy rates from the larger number of all cycles started to pregnancies from couples who just the best quality embryos (a much smaller number of cycles). The first statistic will give the same clinic an overall “success rate” of around 25%, whereas the second statistic will give the same clinic an overall “success rate” of above 70%!
