Emeritus Professor Of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UWI St Augustine, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Reproductive Endocrine Specialist.
Professor Ramsewak has a track record of excellence in the fertility field. A graduate of UWI Medical School, he undertook specialist fertility training in the UK before returning to Trinidad to pioneer the use of advanced fertility treatments and specialised fertility surgery. With over 30 years clinical and research experience he successfully founded Trinidad’s only fertility centre. With dedicated leadership and guidance, his team was responsible for the First IVF pregnancy in the Caribbean as well as many other firsts including successful ICSI, Frozen Embryo and Egg Donor pregnancies.
He has been awarded the Chaconia medal of Trinidad and Tobago, is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FACOG) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). His research interests include infertility in the Caribbean. His MD research focused on the prevalence of Chlamydia in Trinidad and Tobago.
