Dr Catherine Minto-Bain, FRCOG, MB ChB,
Dr Minto-Bain is the lead clinician and Medical Director of Trinidad and Tobago IVF & Fertility Centre. She is a fertility expert and, under her direction, the clinic has grown into one of the largest and most successful fertility centres in the Caribbean.
Dr Minto-Bain received her medical degree from Bristol University, UK, in 1993 and undertook residency in Obstetrics and gynaecology at Kings College Hospital London and University College London Hospitals, before proceeding to a clinical research post in Reproductive Gynaecology at University College London. She emigrated to Trinidad from the UK in 2004.
Her current research interests are in the assessment and understanding of both male and female infertility in Trinidad and Tobago, especially egg quality issues, low AMH levels, PCOS and miscarriages. Her recent published work includes zika virus infection from semen. Dr Minto-Bain sees patients in all our fertility clinic locations and is the Head clinician in the IVF programme.
She is a fellow of the Royal College Of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG), American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the British Society of Paediatric Gynaecology, the British Medical Association, and the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), as well as a lecturer and examiner for the University of the West Indies in Women’s health.
